New Year, New giving opportunities

The BCE Booster Club is excited to kick off the new school year with new opportunities and benefits to donating! Keep reading for everything you need to know about The Big BCE Give, the new Grade Level Donation process (formerly handled by classroom parents), Spirit Shirts, and Happy Birthday Marquee Messages.

The Big BCE Give

Each year, as a Booster Club, we are able to enrich the educational experiences of our children by funding and coordinating campus improvements, extracurricular activities, school events, field trips, and classroom supplies, as well as supporting our teachers and staff by providing a variety of instructional materials, professional development courses, and on-going appreciation activities, because of generous donations from our community.

For the 2023-2024 school year the suggested donation amount is staying the same at $200 per a family with one student at BCE or $300 per family with multiple students at BCE, including those with littles at the CDC. New this year, every donor, regardless of amount given, will receive a BCE car magnet. Also new, for every $200 donated in July, donors will receive a limited edition, 2023-2024 BCE Beach Towel. Visit the Big BCE Give webpage for more details. 

Grade Level Donations

Also new this year, the Booster Club will be collecting donations on behalf of our classroom parents. This will allow you to complete all of your BCE donations through one form, allow for your donation to your student's teacher-fund to be tax deductible, and ensure our classroom parents can focus on supporting our teachers, instead of managing donations. Our recommendation is $50 per student. 

Interested in volunteering as a classroom parent? Classroom parents work in conjunction with the Booster Club and the other parents in the class to support their individual classroom teacher. This includes coordinating gifts, organizing class events and parties, and sharing information about school events and volunteer opportunities. If you're interested in volunteering as your child's classroom parent, look for a sign-up sheet and more information in each teacher's room during the Lemonade Social on August 15. 

Spirit Shirts

Blue Jay Spirit Days will be back this year! To make ordering and receiving your spirit shirts even more convenient, we are taking pre-orders through the donation link. Shirts pre-ordered throughout July will be available for pick up at the Lemonade Social on August 15. Additional BCE merchandise is available in our Spirit Store.  

Happy birthday marquee messages

Finally, with the installation of our new digital marquee completed, we're pleased to be able to bring back our Happy Birthday Marquee Messages. When making your Big Give donation, you'll have the option to add your student's name to the weekly Happy Birthday message on the marquee for just $25.
